Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 April 2025
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your browser when you visit a page. They are widely used to make websites work as intended, to remember preferences, and to help site owners understand how visitors interact with their pages.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we place on your device when you visit suluhmahad.pro, why we place them, and how you may manage or remove them. Our use of cookies is limited to what is described here; we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across unrelated websites.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for three broad purposes:
- Functionality: To remember that you have acknowledged our cookie notice, so that it does not reappear on every visit.
- Analytics: To understand how many people visit our site, which pages they read, and how long they stay. This helps us improve the information we provide.
- Marketing measurement: Where you have consented, to measure the reach of any digital marketing we conduct, through services such as Google Ads and Meta. This data helps us understand whether our communications are reaching people who have an interest in family law guidance.
We do not use cookies to collect personal data beyond what is described here, and we do not sell cookie data to third parties.
3. Cookies We Place
The table below lists the cookies that may be active on this website.

The cookies listed above are the only ones we knowingly set. Third-party scripts may occasionally set additional technical cookies; we review these on a regular basis.
4. Strictly Necessary Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because they are required for the website to operate. The sm_cookie_consent cookie falls into this category. It stores only a boolean value (whether you have acknowledged the cookie notice) and carries no personal data beyond what your browser automatically sends with every web request.
We do not require your consent to set strictly necessary cookies under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) or general Malaysian regulatory guidance, but we are transparent about their presence.
5. Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website in aggregate. The data collected includes which pages were viewed, how long visits lasted, and in broad terms where visits originated (country or region). Google Analytics assigns a random identifier to each browser; it does not receive your name, email address, or other identifying information from us.
We have enabled IP anonymisation in our Google Analytics configuration, so only a truncated version of your IP address is processed.
Google's own privacy documentation is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You may opt out of Google Analytics across all websites you visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Marketing Measurement Cookies
If you accept marketing measurement cookies, we place tags from Meta (Facebook Pixel) and Microsoft (Bing Universal Event Tracking). These are measurement tools — they help us understand whether people who saw a digital advertisement later visited our website. They do not allow us to identify you personally, and we do not receive any personally identifying data from Meta or Microsoft as a result.
If you decline these cookies, your visit will not be counted in campaign reports, and your experience of this website will be identical in all respects.
Meta's data practices are described at facebook.com/privacy/policy. Microsoft's practices are described at privacy.microsoft.com.
7. Your Choices
You have several ways to manage cookies:
- Cookie notice: When you first visit our website, a notice invites you to accept or decline analytics and marketing measurement cookies. Your choice is remembered for one year.
- Browser settings: All modern browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that disabling all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.
- Opt-out tools: You may also use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out portal at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Withdrawing consent: If you wish to withdraw consent you previously gave, you may clear this website's cookies from your browser storage, which will cause the cookie notice to reappear on your next visit.
8. Data Transfers
Google, Meta, and Microsoft are multinational companies. Data collected through their cookies may be processed outside Malaysia, including in the United States and in data centres across the European Economic Area. Each company maintains internationally recognised safeguards for cross-border data transfers; we link to their privacy documentation above.
We share no other personal data with these services beyond the anonymised usage signals described in this policy.
9. Retention
Cookies persist for the durations set out in the table in Section 3. Analytics and measurement data held by third parties is subject to their own retention schedules. Our internal copies of aggregate analytics reports are kept for up to three years for the purpose of understanding how our website has developed over time; these reports contain no personal data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes or as regulatory guidance develops. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be noted in the cookie notice shown to returning visitors.
